Founding Principal Barbra Bright

Principal Barbra Bright founded Barbra Bright Interior Design in 2017, after working for various high-end kitchen showrooms in the Bay Area. With a studio on 4th Street in San Rafael, Barbra offers complete residential design for clients from Marin to Napa to San Francisco. Like her personality, Bright’s designs are bold, vibrant, and saturated with color. Specializing in Mid-Century Modern interiors, Barbra believes that design rules are meant to be broken and that innovation and risk are important to bring to every project.   

Barbra’s passion for design started early, when she learned how to use her mother’s sewing machine and stitched clothes for her Barbie. From there she ventured into interior design, decorating and redecorating Barbie’s Dream House.

"As a mixed race (African-American and Korean) child,” adds Barbra, "I was raised fusing traditions, foods, and art— all of which certainly influences my design sense and informs my sense of style."
