Azure Guest Bathroom

Interior Designer Barbra Bright of Marin County based Barbra Bright Design is proud to debut the Azure Guest Bathroom at the 2020 San Francisco Decorator Showcase. “The ocean inspiration happened organically,” explains Barbra. “When I learned that the showcase theme was Mediterranean, I immediately thought blue tiles to represent the Mediterranean Sea. The Morrocan mirror and lights just fell into place after that.” 

Behind the sink are a wall of deep blue tiles, textured to give the appearance that they undulate and evoke the Mediterranean sea. The vivid blue is juxtaposed with a black and white marble tile on both the floor and bathtub wall. The marble tile, with its elliptical black and white pattern, adds a whimsical, yet grounded element to the room. The two bold tiles are united by gold accents — hardware, a Moroccan-inspired mirror, and pendants — that add balance and unity to the design.

“I will certainly remember my first showcase,” says Barbra. “Because of the pandemic, virtual tours are the only option. But, nothing can stop me from enjoying this opportunity! There were a few extra steps, but it’s been worth it all.”
